On August 17, Bunzl Canada proudly awarded its annual Bunzl Canada Scholarship – a program dedicated to promoting academic merit and fostering the pursuit of higher education of its employees’ children.
A committee of Canadian university and college representatives selected Julianna Squires as the deserving recipient of the 2023 Bunzl Canada Scholarship. Julianna is the daughter of Judy Squires, Bunzl Cleaning and Hygiene’s Customer Service Manager in Toronto.
Upon receiving the award, Julianna expressed her gratitude and shared her perspective on the importance of this scholarship for her future:
“Being awarded the Bunzl Canada Scholarship is a tremendous boost as I enter into McMaster’s Life Science program,” said Julianna. “As I work towards professional school and a career in healthcare, this scholarship serves as a steppingstone, not only fostering academic excellence but also nurturing the skills and experiences necessary for my future success in making a meaningful contribution to healthcare.”
The Bunzl Canada Scholarship Program is administered by Scholarship Partners Canada (SPC), which is an independent, non-profit organization that administers the scholarship on behalf of Bunzl Canada. The SPC committee evaluated eligible recipients based on academic performance, extracurricular activities or volunteer/community involvement, the quality of their reference letters.
“With the resources and opportunities this scholarship provides, I can actively engage in research, extracurricular activities, and gain a well-rounded education,” said Julianna. “This financial support paves the way for immersive learning, removing some financial barriers and allowing me to focus entirely on my studies.”
Bunzl Canada recognizes the importance of supporting the next generation of learners, especially those who are keen on making a meaningful impact in fields like healthcare.
“Thank you, Bunzl Canada, for supporting University Students and playing a part in me working towards my dreams,” Julianna added.
This fall, Julianna will begin her post-secondary journey in McMaster University’s Life Sciences program. The scholarship serves not only as a testament to her achievements, but also as an investment in a future where she is primed to make significant contributions.
