BUNZL FOR BETTER

Taking action to support a better environment. community. tomorrow.

Better in Action

BUNZL FOR BETTER is a movement our 1100+ employees, our vendor partners and our customers get behind with energy and passion.
Together, we drive actions that protect the environment and promote social equity, inclusion, and opportunity – in short, helping to make our world…better.

How are we being BETTER?

Across the country, Bunzl employees are making Canadian communities better one small act at a time. From tree planting events to sponsoring community organizations, every act is a step towards a BETTER tomorrow.

BUNZL FOR BETTER Days

Everyone wants to volunteer. But when we asked employees what was holding them back from doing it, the common answer was ‘no time.’

BUNZL FOR BETTER Days give each employee the time they need to volunteer for a cause that means the most to them.

One, Two, Tree!

Bunzl Canada is a proud sponsor of Tree Canada, supporting the growth of resilient ecosystems and greener communities across Canada.

In October of 2025, 19 Bunzl team members traded in their laptops for shovels and planted 90 trees at Thorpe Park in Burlington, ON. This event was in support of Conservation Halton as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to expand their tree canopy and enhance native biodiversity.

Through the sponsorship of a Community Tree Grant, we helped Burlington Green – a local non-profit organization –  plant over 600 shrubs and trees at Longmoor Park in Burlington.

This partnership is just one way we’re helping make our communities a better place to live, one tree at a time.

Ripple of Hope Golf Tournament

Last year, we hosted the 25th annual Ripple of Hope golf tournament in support of the Arthur & Sonia Labatt Brain Tumour Research Centre at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

On July 8th, 2025 Bunzl Canada teams, our vendor partners, and cleaning and hygiene, safety, industrial, grocery/retail/processor business customers gathered at Greystone Golf Club in Milton, Ontario. Everyone enjoyed a day of fiesta-themed golf as they fundraised and increased awareness for Toronto SickKids’ advanced pediatric brain tumour research initiatives.

Over the last two decades, us and our supporters have raised over $1.93 million to fund the revolutionary work at SickKids Hospital to combat life-threatening pediatric neurosurgical conditions. This year’s 25th annual tournament surpassed over:

$130,000+ raised in one day

$1,900,000+ raised over 25 years

National Toilet Paper Day

On August 26, 2025 we announced another BUNZL FOR BETTER initiative to mark National Toilet Paper Day and continuing our partnership with Food Banks Canada. This continued collaboration highlights and addresses the critical need for personal hygiene products and other non-food essentials that many Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast struggle to afford.

With the help our warehouse staff and the incredible support from our vendors Cascades , Sunset, Kruger Products, Essity , and Kimberly-Clark Professional, over…

57,000+

rolls of toilet paper were donated to local food banks across Canada.

Erin Filey-WroneckiChief Development and Partnerships Officer, Food Banks Canada
“Every day, people across the country are forced to make heartbreaking decisions about whether to eat, pay rent, or go without another basic necessity. With more than two million people in Canada turning to food banks every month, the need for support has never been more urgent. We are so grateful to Bunzl and their vendor partners for their incredible generosity. By providing hygiene products to people in need, they are easing the burden of essential household costs, allowing families to redirect those savings toward food and other critical items.”
John HowlettPresident, Bunzl Canada
“We’re proud to once again collaborate with Food Banks Canada and our generous vendor partners to support National Toilet Paper Day. It’s an important way we can help to draw attention to hygiene poverty, while providing critical support for people in need in communities across Canada.”
Margo HunnisettVice President, Marketing & Communications, Bunzl Canada
“Toilet paper is a basic necessity that, sadly, for some families and individuals can be a challenge to obtain. That’s why it’s so important to both draw attention to this critical need, and to help address it through our own donations and those of our vendor partners.”
