Reporting to the Human Resources Director for Canada, the individual will be responsible for providing a highly responsive and professional level of service to all levels of employees at various office/branch locations across Canada. This individual will manage a wide range of administrative, payroll and benefit activities and other Human Resource functions and operational support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing day-to day HR administrative, payroll and benefit support within our segments across Canada. Includes answering routine employee questions, maintaining employment files, reporting, corporate initiatives, vacation and benefits
  • Establish and maintain valued business partnerships, including enhancing culture through employee interactions and driving a value added responsive HR function
  • Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of HR data, and participate in regular payroll audits
  • Responsible for the accuracy of all personnel files
  • Administer the group benefits and group RRSP programs
  • Coordinate all incoming payroll data for multiple business with different pay cycles, ensuring all policies and procedures are met in a timely manner
  • Maintain the HRIS system including new hires, transfers, salary changes, promotions, terminations, LOA’s etc.
  • Prepare all confirmation of employment letters as requested
  • Administer IT service desk tickets within our online portal for new hires and terminations
  • Conduct new hire orientations, and audit all required HR documentation for the employee file
  • Maintain and track mandatory online compliance training to ensure completion across Canada
  • Process, track, and maintain vacation records across Canada, and provide quarterly analysis and updates
  • Create ongoing monthly HR newsletters to be released across Canada to all business
  • Partner and support the HR Generalists for each of their respective segments
  • Distribute all HR Communications memos sent to the business
  • Manage the Company Service Award Program
  • Partner with corporate payroll in the US for payroll related items
  • Work collaboratively with other members of RHR operations and business units
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects, and other duties assigned by management


Qualification Requirements

  • A passion for Human Resources, while gaining trust and establishing credibility from all areas of the business
  • University and/or College education, preferably in a discipline related to Human Resources
  • Fluently bi-lingual (English & French) in both written and spoken is preferred
  • CHRP or in pursuit of the designation
  • Minimum two years or more years of Human Resources experience required
  • Prior positions held in human resources and operations; industry experience is an asset
  • Professional in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Knowledge of HR practices and fundamentals required
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and HRIS system experience
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills
